The curry is spicy yet gentle and goes well with the meat. The Sika Curry (1,080 JPY) is made with Hokkaido deer that has been carefully prepped and has no gamey smell. It has been thoroughly cooked and has plenty of umami. Add the Kusa Topping (150 JPY) for additional spinach sautéed in butter.

This is a restaurant with the retro feel of an old-school Japanese coffee shop. It serves a dark curry that has been popular for years. The sauce – developed through more than five years of research – is so thoroughly simmered that there is no visible sign of any meats or vegetables. It is rich yet gentle on the stomach. The specialty Hamburg Curry (1,500 JPY) has beef, pork and vegetables melted in to create the umami flavor and viscosity. There are many who swear by the voluminous hamburg (hamburger steak), which is made with a mixture of beef and pork.
