5 Select Restaurants for Lunch at Toyosu Market: Super-Fresh Sushi, Seafood Bowls, and More!

A variety of shops and restaurants are open to the general public at Toyosu Market. This article will tell you all about 5 must-try lunch spots in and around the market!

1. Tsukiji Kaisendon Ooedo

If it's a kaisendon you're craving (which is a rice bowl dish topped with raw seafood), look no further than Tsukiji Kaisendon Ooedo! On this menu that normally features over 30 different dishes, we highly recommend the 4 Item Tuna Bowl (2600 JPY (incl. tax)). Treat your taste buds to this bowl featuring the fatty goodness of chutoro tuna, lean akami tuna with umami flavors, and the even deeper umami flavors of nakaochi (fish meat attached to the fish's spine). English and Chinese (Simplified) menus are also available, as well as English- and Chinese-speaking staff.

2. Ginza Sushimasa THE IMPRESSION Toyosu Market Branch

If you're visiting the market, then you're probably in the mood for some sushi. One of the best spots for chowing down is this shop filled with seasonal nigiri-sushi (hand-formed sushi). Items can be ordered individually in sets of 8 or more, but you'll get a better deal by ordering the Omakase Nigiri Set (4,500 JPY - 7,000 JPY (incl. tax)). This set features 10-11 types of nigiri as well as miso soup. An English menu is available, as are English- and Chinese-speaking staff.

3. Unagi Fukusen

Unagi Fukusen is a popular restaurant features a dish known as Unaju (3,200 - 4,200 JPY (incl. tax)), or a square-shaped bowl filled with rice and unagi that has been coated in sauce and grilled on a skewer. The unagi here is carefully cooked into a plump, juicy dish with none of the fishy smell whatsoever. This store's secret sauce, which has been used since the store's opening, is a tamari soy sauce-based sauce with a deep, rich flavor.
