tanreisan, who is actively mainly on Instagram as a 'personalized ramen concierge', came up with a series to share his recommended ramen shops through various means. He introduces ramen according to the foreigner's hometown and preference. This time, we'll be giving a report on "Dai Tsukemen Haku 2019" held over about a month starting in early October, and I will also be introducing you to five well-known places in Tokyo among food stands and ramen restaurants!

Dai Tsukemen Haku 2019
This is already its 11th year ever since it was held for the first time at Hibiya Patio in 2009.
Up to now, it has been held in various places, and it has grown into Japan's largest tsukemen event by devising events and battle methods for comparing foods. It was the largest it has ever been in 2019 with 100 restaurants nationwide gathering together. Once again, I ate a ton of different varieties of food from standard, well-known restaurants all the way to the most extreme and radical kinds.

Due to 100 restaurants participating this year, the days when the restaurants would get switched out was not consistent, but several restaurants were always open during the event, so that really helped me out.
The deeper autumn gets, the more my appetite grows, and I had about 50 servings throughout the event period! I'll introduce you to the five kinds that I was particularly moved by!
【Osaka】Ramen style JUNK STORY/Jidori-to-hamaguri-no-gokujoudashi~Kiramekinoshiosoba~
The combination of clam & homebred chicken broth tastes amazing. Very silky noodles are very nice, so I can't stop eating this.
The bubble soup made from shrimp & chicken white broth tastes rich & creamy. This is a evolutional ramen.
A famous Akita's style niboshi ramen. I'm sure you will get hooked on this taste.
A potato paste with white miso soup. This bowl is very unique, and makes me feel like I'm in Hokkaido.
New style soupless noodles. It became a famous instant soupless noodles this spring. The oil sauce of fresh sourness tastes good.
After about a month of it being held, I had spent days discovering things to eat. Once again this year, I found various flavors and interesting noodles, and I was really surprised by the originality of all of the restaurant owners.
So that you can experience at least a little of the reverberation of the event, I will introduce you to five restaurants I recommend among the exhibited restaurants that have locations in Tokyo.

Opened in May 2019. The owner received training at the famous ramen shop "Honda".
The soup has an amazing seafoods flavor, and the taste of shijimi broth is unbelievably delicious. So I can't stop my Chinese spoon to eat the soup. Good bite & thin noodles, some carefully cooked ingredients, these fit this ramen like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. Anyway this is a wonderful ramen.

Newly opened August 2019. This is a branch shop of Touka ramen group. This located shop changes the shop name & ramen flavor every year. This business strategy is very unique on the ramen scene.
The soup is made from dried scallops broth & vegetables one. It has a nicely balanced flavor, tastes wonderful. Thin & flat noodles are chewy, perfect bite, and go well with this soup. Really let you appreciate the finer tastes of mariage. If you have room in your stomach, please enjoy a second helping of noodles.

Chukasoba Rokkando ; A Recommended Ramen Shop that opened at the Dai Tsukemen Haku

Newly opened in March 2019. This is the second brand shop of a famous ramen shop "Rokkando" in Ikebukuro. Although the new era name "Reiwa" has just announced in Japan this week, but this ramen reminds me of Showa era because it is nostalgic ramen.
The soup made from niboshi, pork, and chicken broth is a very finer taste. Hand-rolled flat noodles are fresh & soft like a Sano-style ramen. I'm happy to choose from two types of shoyu ramens（black or white）.

Shoyu soba with Ajitama 950 JPY
Several years have passed after returning the birthplace. Now, this shop became a famous shoyu ramen restaurant on the east of Tokyo.
The soup made from dried seafoods & chicken broth tastes very finer & rich. When I put foie gras sause on the char-siu pork into soup, the taste changes more rich like a double clear soup. The noodles are mixed with whole wheat flour, has a nice flavor & perfect bite. Of course, the famous dip noodle is good since before, this nice & simple shoyu ramen is amazing, makes me feel owner's will & his hard work. Anyway, the great ramen is still in good even today.

Nandenkanden ; A Recommended Ramen Shop that opened at the Dai Tsukemen Haku

Sanbaka Ramen 1,070 JPY
The legendary tonkotsu ramen shop lead by unique owner Mr.kawahara restarted in Koenji on September 2018. He had a lot of problems to manage ramen restaurants in the past, but he got over them, and his new slogan is "I never fail".
The soup tastes very rich, I'm sure the taste is the same or better than before. There are a lot of toppings ( boiled eggs, seaweeds, green onions, char-siu porks ), so both my stomach and my heart are full. Character on the seaweed is the same as before too. Noodles are firm bite, go well with soup. Exterior of the shop, a lot of staffs, dynamism of operation, makes me feel the returning of the owner. Established in 1987. A new legend of "Nandenkanden" begins.
