Winter Trees with Blooms of Magnificent Ice Flower
Gozaisho Ropeway (Komono-cho, Mie Prefecture)
This is one of Japan's longest aerial lift lines on the 1,212m-high Mt. Gozaisho. It travels a total distance of 2,161m in about 15 minutes with fantastic views throughout the year of the Ise Plain, Ise Bay, and Chita Peninsula. The view of frost-covered trees and frozen waterfalls that can only be seen in the winter is outstanding.
【Where to Take Photos】The frost-covered trees can often be seen in January and February. Trees with large protrusions of frost can be photographed around Sanjo-koen Station, especially on the slopes on the Shiga Prefecture side.

Enjoy the Beauty of the Valley on a Ferry Gliding over the Lake
Miyagawa Dam Lake Ferry (Odai Town, Mie Prefecture)
Take a 60-minute circular ferry ride on Miyagawa Dam Lake, and immerse yourself in the beauty of the Osugidani Gorge, one of the three most famous valleys of Japan together with Kurobe Gorge and Kiyotsu Gorge. Experience the exhilaration of traveling over a lake the color of jade while enjoying the seasonal beauty.
【Where to Take Photos】Photographs of the red bridge on the lake in the middle with the mountains on either side can be powerful. The ferry passes the bridge in both directions, so there are two opportunities to take photographs.

■Miyagawa Dam Lake

Access: Approximately a 50-minute drive to Osugi from Omiya Odai Interchange
Huge and Strange Rock Formations Created by Kumano Sea at the Entrance of Nigishima Bay
Tategasaki (Kumano City, Mie Prefecture)
This is a steep cliff that is about 70m high with a circumference of 600m. It is characterized by a geological structure called "columnar jointing" that looks as if numerous pillars are joined together. The 170m-high cliff called Umikongo and blue caves at the back that can only be seen from a ferry (reservations required) are also well worth seeing.
【Where to Take Photos】There is a photo spot about 40 minutes on a walking path from the parking lot on National Route 311. The ferry is recommended if you want to take powerful photographs up close.

Natural Sculptures Chiseled by the Rough Waves of Kumano Sea
Onigajo (Kumano City, Mie Prefecture)
This is a large cliff wall of approximately 1.2km of sea caves created by the rough waves of Kumano Sea at the southern end of the rias coastline that starts in Iseshima. It is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as a part of the Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range. Enjoy Senjojiki and other sculptures created by nature.
【Where to Take Photos】The best spot to take photographs is Senjojiki at the east entrance. The large two-tiered rock cave looks like the beak of a bird. If you're facing the sea, include the island, Mamirugashima, for a beautiful photograph.

The Tokai Area's Largest Plum Orchard Blooming with Multi-colored Flowers
Inabe City Plum Festival (Inabe City, Mie Prefecture)
This is an event held from late February to late March in the plum orchard park in Inabe City Nogyokoen , which is the Tokai Region's premier site for plum blossoms. Here, you can see approximately 4,000 plum trees of 100 varieties blooming with a view of the Suzuka Mountain Range. There are sales of plum tree saplings as well as food stalls during the event.
【Where to Take Photos】Take photographs from high places, such as the viewpoint in the park. On a sunny day, you may be able to see the plum blossoms together with the snow-capped Suzuka Mountain Range.

■Inabe City Plum Festival
