5. Tamagawa Onsen

Tamagawa Onsen is a famous hot spring that boasts the most output and the strongest acidity of all hot springs in Japan with 9,000 liters a day and pH1.2.
This facility is a toji spa resort, which is different from normal hotels. People come here with the purpose of healing, so there are a set of rules to follow and all rooms are smoke free and services are simplistic. Also, the air around the spa contains strong acid, so it may affect your precious metals, cellphone, and PC (bringing them in will be on your own responsibility).
You can take a taxi or bus during mid-April to late October, but you need to check the accessibility during winter since the area gets a lot of snow and the road can be closed.
