Five Marriott Hotels with Regional Features Open Across Japan
The opening of the five hotels that Mori Trust Group and Marriott International had been developing—Karuizawa Marriott Hotel, Fuji Marriott Hotel Lake Yamanaka, Izu Marriott Hotel Shuzenji, Lake Biwa Marriott Hotel, and Nanki-Shirahama Marriott Hotel—will be on Friday, July 28. Reservations have been accepted through the hotel website and other sources since Friday, June 23. In addition, JapaTabi Holiday, a special package that incorporates features unique to each hotel, is on sale. In 2016, the number of foreign visitors to Japan reached a record 24 million and there are expectations that an "inbound 40 million age" will arrive. At such a time, the five new Marriott hotels will disseminate to the world the charms of Japan's nature-rich resorts with unique histories.
Karuizawa Marriott Hotel
Karuizawa Marriott Hotel is in Karuizawa, which is conveniently located just 70 minutes from Tokyo but offers a full resort experience. The main wing opened in July last year, and this July, the north wing with 56 guestrooms, each with private onsen hot spring bathrooms, was completed for the full opening of the hotel.
Fuji Marriott Hotel Lake Yamanaka
Fuji Marriott Hotel Lake Yamanaka is surrounded by the rich forests around Lake Yamanaka, which is the closest of the Fuji Five Lakes to Mt. Fuji. It has a variety of resort facilities including large shared onsen hot spring baths, tennis courts, restaurants serving flavors of Koshu (Yamanashi), and 105 premium guestrooms creating the perfect backdrop for a comfortable stay.
Izu Marriott Hotel Shuzenji
Izu Marriott Hotel Shuzenji is located within the vast 500,000 tsubo (400 acres) grounds of Laforet Resort Shuzenji. There are guestrooms with private open-air hot spring baths with views of Mt. Fuji, function rooms, a dining room that serves the flavors of Izu, and a variety of sports facilities so that each guest can have a resort experience suited to their taste.
Lake Biwa Marriott Hotel
Lake Biwa Marriott Hotel is located by Lake Biwa about 30 minutes by train from Kyoto Station. Guests can enjoy a comfortable stay with a view of the majestic lake in the 274 guestrooms designed with the "water" of Lake Biwa as the motif, and from the top floor restaurant.
Nanki-Shirahama Marriott Hotel
Nanki-Shirahama Marriott Hotel is in a location with a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and Shirahama Beach in the Nanki-Shirahama area, which is known as one of the top beach resorts in the Kansai Region. This is a hotel where you can enjoy a special time in one of the 182 guestrooms that depict beautiful white beaches, the open-air bath with water from the famous Shirahama Onsen hot spring, and dining room offering fresh seafood.
The Special Opening Package—JapaTabi Holiday
JapaTabi Holiday, a special package commemorating the opening of the five hotels, is offered from Friday, July 28, 2017 through Saturday, March 31, 2018. The packages include original JapaTabi cocktails (non-alcoholic) that incorporate each region's charm and breakfast buffets for a special stay at the new Marriott hotels.
Original JapaTabi Cocktails (From left to right in the photograph)
The Shizuoka Tea Mojito at Izu Marriott Hotel Shuzenji is a refreshing cocktail with a sharp flavor. Pour in the green tea from the accompanying bottle to create a bright green cocktail. Perfect for a stay in the forests of Izu.
The Yamanashi Peach Jam Bellini at Fuji Marriott Hotel Yamanakako is a cocktail with flavors like fresh peach created by adding a rich puree of Yamanashi Prefecture peaches to tonic water. The cute appearance will tickle your sensibilities.
When the puree of ripe mandarin oranges that is served in a bottle is poured into the glass, the Shirahama Salty Dog offered at Nanki-Shirahama Marriott Hotel becomes just like a mandarin orange.
The Shinshu Apple Sangria served at Karuizawa Marriott Hotel is an apple-like cocktail made by adding non-alcoholic wine to citrus-flavored apple juice. It is an outstanding drink that incorporates the flavors of Nagano fruits and represents the glamour of Karuizawa.
The Omi Beef & Tonic served at Lake Biwa Marriott Hotel is made by adding elegant gold leaf to a tonic water with Omi beef flavors to create a sophisticated yet powerful cocktail. Enjoy the gap between the look and the taste.
These five unique Marriott Hotels incorporate Japan's charms. Take this opportunity to experience a special environment.
