Recommended for Families and Couples! Five Inns in Hiroshima with Private Baths
When you're traveling with your family or significant other, you don't want to have to worry about other guests at your accommodations. Here are five ryokan inns and hotels with private baths in Hiroshima.
1. Tomo Seaside Hotel
This is a popular hotel with a Tenku Open-Air Bath, from which you can see a fabulous view of the Seto Inland Sea.
It is a shared bath between 6:00 am and 10:00 am (free for guests), but is available to rent privately between 11:00 am and 10:45 pm (2,000 JPY (excl. tax)/45 minutes; reservations required). Be sure to let the hotel know you would like to reserve the private bath when booking your room.
Sekitei is a ryokan inn popular for its luxurious building. It is on Honshu, Japan's main island, across the beautiful strait from Miyajima, an island that's home to the World Heritage site, Itsukushima Shrine.
There are twelve guestrooms, most of which are independent structures such as annexes and two-story rooms, with views of the beautifully maintained garden and ocean. Each guestroom has a private bath, some of which are open-air baths. Guests can enjoy soaking in the baths without being disturbed.
3. Hatago Sakura
This a popular luxury ryokan inn with just four guestrooms, each of which are separate buildings. Each guestroom has an open-air onsen hot spring bath made of different material such as stone and marble. Guests can enjoy soaking in the baths whenever they want and as much as they want. There is free Wi-Fi in all rooms. English-speaking staff are available.
4. Miyajima Grand Hotel Arimoto
This hotel is in a fabulous location just a 3 minute walk away from the World Heritage site, Itsukushima Shrine. There is a variety of guestrooms, from Japanese-style rooms with tatami mats, and rooms with beds blending Japanese and Western styles. Among them, the rooms with private open-air baths are recommended. You can have a luxurious bath while enjoying the fabulous view of Miyajima, including the Otorii gate of Itsukushima Shrine. The hotel also has large shared bathrooms that all guests can enjoy. The shared bathrooms have both indoor baths and open-air baths.

5. Ochi Kochi
This ryokan is in the Tomonoura area, a region full of sightseeing spots. All guestrooms have views of the ocean, and there is a selection of rooms from reasonably-priced standard twin rooms to spacious suites. There is free Wi-Fi in all guestrooms.
Each guestroom also has a wood deck, from which you can see the ocean, and a private open-air bath. You can enjoy a private bath anytime around the clock. The inn also has two additional private baths that you can reserve for 45 minutes at no extra cost. You can relax and enjoy the baths while listening to the sounds of the ocean.
