1. Tokyo Metro 24-Hour Ticket

The Tokyo Metro 24-Hour Ticket will give you unlimited rides on all Tokyo Metro lines for 24 hours from the start of use. Advance tickets can be purchased at the Tokyo Metro Commuter Pass ticket offices (except Nakano, Nishi-Funabashi and Shibuya Stations (Fukotoshin Line)), while same-day tickets are sold at ticket vending machines in every station on the Tokyo Metro lines.

Tokyo Metro is a transportation system that covers almost the entire area of central Tokyo. A ride on the Tokyo Metro will take you to major stations such as Tokyo, Ginza, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro and Shibuya, and sightseeing spots such as Tokyo Tower and Tokyo Skytree. If you plan on getting off at several stations on the Tokyo Metro system, then this ticket is definitely a great deal!

The Tokyo Combination Ticket (1-Day Ticket) will let you enjoy unlimited rides on the Toei Subway, Toei Bus, Toden Arakawa Line and Nippori-Toneri Liner, as well as all the Tokyo Metro (all lines) and JR (in the 23 wards). This ticket is recommended to those who want to enjoy the entire Tokyo from morning until night! You can purchase it on the automatic ticket machines in every station on the Toei Subway and Nippori-Toneri Liner (except Oshiage, Meguro, Shirokanedai, Shirokane-Takanawa and Shinjuku on the Shinjuku Line).
It will be a very handy ticket to have for those who plan to go around Tokyo for a day, such as go shopping in Shibuya on the western side of Tokyo after exploring Tokyo Skytree and Ginza, and dining in Shinjuku before heading back to their hotel.

3. Tokyo Subway Ticket (24-Hour to 72-Hour Tickets)

The Tokyo Subway Ticket (24-Hour to 72-Hour Tickets) will let you ride on all Tokyo Metro and Toei Subway lines for 24 hours, 48 hours or 72 hours from first use within the valid period. Tourists can purchase this ticket from the commuter pass ticketing offices in several Tokyo Metro stations, airports, tourist information centers and other spots. This ticket is not sold to people living in Tokyo. It is meant for touristst, so its price is very reasonable.

4. Tokyo Metropolitan District Pass

This pass allows for unlimited rides on regular trains (including rapid) that run within the 23 wards in Tokyo. While Tokyo has these 23 wards at the core, there are several cities found on its western side. This ticket may only be used in the 23 wards, but that should suffice as it will already let you explore virtually all the major tourist spots in the area such as Ueno, Ikebukuro, Shinjuku, Harajuku and Shibuya. You can purchase it at the Reserved Seat ticket machines and JR Ticket Offices at the major stations on the JR East lines within the 23 wards, and other places.
The JR Sobu Line is especially recommended when you have this ticket. It will take you to the famous electric town of Akihabara, and Suidobashi, where you will find LaQua amusement park and spas. It also stops at Iidabashi Station, which is within walking distance to Kagurazaka that is paved in cobblestones and houses traditional restaurants. If you stay put on the train, you can even go to Shinjuku. All these places can be reached on the Sobu Line, so there is no chance of getting on the wrong train.

5. Toei Marugoto Kippu (1-Day Pass)

This ticket will let you ride on the Toei Subway, Toei Bus (including the Tama area), Toden Arakawa Line and Nippori-Toneri Liner however many times you want in a single day. If you use it on the night bus, though, you will need to pay the difference (210 JPY for adults and 100 JPY for children) from the ordinary fare. Same-day tickets are sold on the automatic ticket vending machines in every station on the Toei Subway and many other spots.
If you have this ticket, you should definitely ride the Toei Oedo Line. You can visit the Ryogoku district where you will find Edo-Tokyo Museum and the Ryogoku Kokugikan that is famous in sumo wrestling, and the Kuramae area that has been getting a lot of attention lately for its trendy stationery shops, variety stores, and cafes. This line will also take you to Ueno-okachimachi, Shinjuku, and Roppongi areas that are convenient for shopping. You can even go to Daimon to see Tokyo Tower. Toei Oedo Line is a single line that will let you enjoy areas of Tokyo with different vibes.

6. JR TOKYO Wide Pass

The JR TOKYO Wide Pass will give you unlimited rides on reserved seats on the Shinkansen (bullet train) and limited express trains in the Kanto area for 3 days. It also covers the convenient Rinkai Line in the Odaiba area and Echigo-Yuzawa and Gala Yuzawa Stations where you can enjoy snow sports. With a wide coverage area, this ticket will let you fully enjoy the Kanto region for 3 days!
It will be your ticket to a fully loaded trip. Have fun in a snow resort on the first and second days and then head to Odaiba, a famous area in Tokyo, for a shopping spree on the third day! You should also go to tourist spots in the outskirts of Tokyo such as Mt. Fuji, Nikko, and Karuizawa that has been attracting attention lately. Note that this ticket is only sold to foreign tourists with passports, so your passport will be verified when you purchase.
You can buy this ticket from JR EAST Travel Service Centers at Narita Airport Station, Narita Airport Terminal 2 Station, Haneda Airport Terminal on the Tokyo Monorail, Tokyo Station and Shinjuku Station, as well as the Travel Service Centers (View Plaza) at Shinagawa, Shibuya, Ikebukuro, Ueno, Yokohama and Mito Stations.

There are many different train lines and payment methods in Tokyo, and it can be difficult for tourists to keep track of it all. The Greater Tokyo Pass solves all that convenience instantly!
This ticket gives unlimited rides to 13 lines comprising Tobu Line, Keio Line, Keikyu Line, Keisei Line, Odakyu Line, Tokyu Line, Tokyo Metro, Toei Subway, Yokohama Municipal Subway, Minatomirai Line, Sotetsu Line, Seibu Line and Tokyo Sakura Tram (Toden Arakawa Line), as well as plenty of buses in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba and Saitama! You can get rid of the troublesome purchasing of tickets every time you board when you have this ticket, making moving within the Tokyo area a breeze. This ticket is available at Narita and Haneda Airports and at the major stations in Tokyo and Kanagawa areas, but you will need to present your passport to prove that you are a tourist when you purchase.
If you decide to purchase this ticket, then you might want to make the best of it by not just exploring the areas inside Tokyo, but also going a bit farther outside. Some of the recommended spots in the outskirts of Tokyo where you can use this ticket are the Nikko Toshogu Shrine, a World Heritage Site, and Ashikaga Flower Park filled with beautiful wisteria flowers in Tochigi. In Kanagawa, the recommended spots are Enoshima where you can enjoy seafood and trendy cafes, and the quaint Hakone area that is famous for its hot spring resorts. Tokyo Travel 1-DAY Pass and Tokyo Travel 2-DAY Pass are tickets that are perfect for those who will go sightseeing in Tokyo from Haneda Airport. These tickets come as a set of a one-way ticket from Haneda Airport Domestic Terminal/Haneda Airport International Terminal Station to Shinagawa Station on the Keikyu Line and a 1-day (2 days for the 2-DAY Pass) pass for unlimited rides on the Toei Subway.
A one-way ticket from the International Terminal Station to Shinagawa already costs 410 JPY, so if you plan to get off at several stations when you tour Tokyo, then this ticket will pay for itself! It also comes with the CHIKA TOKU service that will give you perks such as discounts at facilities along the train routes. Just check the places where you can enjoy special benefits under CHIKA TOKU and then put them into your itinerary to enjoy sightseeing at a great price.

9. Keikyu Haneda/Subway Common Pass

It may be similar to the Tokyo Travel 1-DAY (2-DAY) Pass in that it will let you go around central Tokyo from Haneda Airport, but the Keikyu Haneda/Subway Common Pass has a higher degree of freedom and flexibility as it offers unlimited rides on all subway lines covering Tokyo.
This ticket will let you visit all spots in Tokyo, such as Omotesando that is famous for its fancy cafes and fashion, the electric town of Akihabara, and Toyosu that has become a hot topic of conversation when the Toyosu Market opened recently. You can purchase it at the Haneda Airport Domestic Terminal/Haneda Airport International Terminal Station on the Keikyu Line and other spots, but note that you cannot get off until after Sengakuji Station.

The Toden Arakawa Line (Tokyo Sakura Tram) runs from Waseda Station to Minowabashi Station, covering an area that is rich in warm local downtown air. The Toden 1-Day Pass that offers unlimited rides for 24 hours is sold inside the trains on the Toden trams and other places.
For tourists who will be riding the Toden Line for the first time, maybe a brief introduction of Koshinzuka, one of the stops on the train’s route, will help you picture the area.
As soon as you get off the train, you will get to Sugamo Jizo-dori Shopping Center, a place that is home to a lot of stores selling Japanese sweets such as the daigaku-imo (candied sweet potatoes) from Koshin and the shio-daifuku (rice cake stuffed with bean jam seasoned with salt) from Iseya. Their storefronts are filled with snacks and sweets that can be easily eaten, so buy a few sweets to take with you as you go around town.
When you’re done walking while eating, head to Koganji Temple. The small piece of Japanese paper bearing a drawing of Jizo (Ksitigarbha) is popular as Togenuki Jizo (thorn-pulling Jizo), and it is actually put on a part of the body that hurts to heal it. After worshipping, go to Konaya Sugamo Main Branch nearby. Their spicy and rich curry udon is superb.
There are many other attractions along the Toden route, including Asukayama Park that is famous for its sakura (cherry blossoms) and the Arakawa Yuen amusement park that may be small but is filled with attractions for children. So, get off at a station that piques your interest and enjoy exploring the town.
