Fun for Both Adults and Children! Recommended Sightseeing Course Starting at Tokyo Station
Tokyo has so many attractions, it's hard to decide where to start? So this time, we introduce a recommended course starting from Tokyo Station that both adults and children can enjoy.
1. See the Town Efficiently on SKY BUS!
The recommended introduction to Tokyo is to ride the "SKY BUS", which runs various routes within Tokyo. It is a double-decker open top tourist bus on which you can enjoy the sites of Tokyo without getting off. It comes with an audio guidance system (English, Chinese, Korean) that uses GPS. There are several tours to choose from, all of which start at Mitsubishi Building, just three minutes on foot from Tokyo Station. The "Imperial Palace-Ginza-Marunouchi Course (adult 1,600 JPY, child 700 JPY (both incl. tax))", is a 50-minute tour around the imperial palace, parliament building, and the elegant and fashionable town of Ginza. There is also an "Omotesando-Shibuya Course (adult 2,000 JPY, child 1,000 JPY (both incl. tax))" and a tour that passes Tokyo Tower.

《10 minutes on foot from the SKY BUS station》
When you return to Tokyo Station, go to "Tokyo Character Street" on the B1 floor of "Tokyo First Street" at the Yaesu Exit. This is a perfect spot to choose souvenirs. It is full of official shops of characters such as Hello Kitty, Rilakkuma, and Pokémon, as well as of the popular manga magazine, "Shonen Jump", and the railroad toy, "Plarail". There is also a store that sells goods and offers information related to traditional Japanese Kabuki theater, so it is suited for a wide range of interests. There is even a shop that sells cosmetics, clothing, and other items of characters popular among adult women called "Otona Joshi Biyori".

2. Get Souvenirs at Tokyo Character Street!

3. Experience the Latest in Science and Technology at Miraikan National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation
《Approx. 40 minutes by train from JR Tokyo Station》
Next on the agenda is "Miraikan National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation". When you enter, you will encounter the "Geo-Cosmos", which produces a realistic rendition of earth as seen from space. In the permanent exhibition, which consists of the three zones of "Explore the frontiers", "Create your future" and "Discover your earth", you will be able to enjoy demonstrations by the humanoid robot, "ASIMO", as well as of state-of-the-art androids. There is also a variety of participatory activities that capture cutting edge science and technology from a broad perspective in the areas of space, life, and information. In the planetarium that uses a stereoscopic video system, you'll be able to experience the feel of floating in space. There is a restaurant in the museum, so you can enjoy the exhibits after having lunch! "DECKS Tokyo Beach" and "AQUA CiTY Odaiba", which can be accessed on the free shuttle bus, "Tokyo Bay Shuttle", are also recommended as lunch spots. They are commercial buildings with numerous kid-friendly restaurants.

Ride the Yamanote Line running clockwise on the outer loop from JR Tokyo Station to Shimbashi Station and transfer to the Yurikamome bound for Toyosu and get off at Telecom Center Station.

3. Experience the Latest in Science and Technology at Miraikan National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation

The last stop is "KidZania Tokyo ". Here, children between ages 3 and 15 are the stars! The building encloses a city that is about 2/3 the size of reality with approximately 60 pavilions including banks and fire stations. Kids can learn about society while having fun trying out approximately 100 occupations and services. Some programs are in English, so non-Japanese speakers can enjoy it too. Everyday, more than five types of "E@K Activity" are conducted in English, and at "English Wednesday!", which is held every wednesday, more than half the activities are in English. Same-day tickets can be purchased if there is space, but it is better to make advance reservations. There are restaurants on site, but there are also cooking activities so you could even have dinner prepared by the kids.
