Even when you want to eat yakiniku, it can be hard to enter a restaurant by yourself. The solo-yakiniku restaurant Yakiniku Like is currently trending as it's filling the needs of solo diners who want to get some yakiniku in their bellies but don't feel comfortable going in to other yakiniku restaurants by themselves. This article will be introducing this popular restaurant that serves an abundance of delicious yakiniku in a stylish space.
What is Yakiniku Like?
Yakiniku Like is a fast food-style yakiniku (Japanese-style barbecue) restaurant that came up with the concept of individual smokeless grills which enables customers to freely enjoy yakiniku however they like at a pace that suits them. In defiance of the conventional way of thinking about yakiniku, they offer a completely new way of enjoying yakiniku: dine alone; order a variety of cuts just for yourself; go even when you're in a hurry since your order will be out in under three minutes. There are 14 locations in Japan and 2 international locations.
What's So Special About Yakiniku Like?
A Personal Space, Inviting For All
Each customer has a smokeless grill to themselves, so you can grill at your own pace.
Order everything via a touch panel, get cold water from the water dispenser on the counter, and get your chopsticks, moist towelettes etc. from a drawer at your seat.
Aside from paying your bill, you can do everything from your seat, so there's no need to wait for the wait staff whenever you need something.
They've also added dividers to the counter, so that you can have more privacy as you enjoy your meal.
The chairs are spaced so that you’re not too close to the person beside you, preserving your personal space.
The grills are smokeless so your hair and clothes won't smell like barbecue smoke.
(*In case of dining with another person, two people can also share a grill.)
Customize to Your Liking
There are nine different yakiniku set menus, and you can also order eight different cuts of meat starting from 50g as individual items. The variety of combinations is unlimited; you can choose to add individual items to one of the set menus, or you can just have meat and salad, or whatever you like. Recently tamago kake gohan (white rice topped with raw egg) has been an extremely popular side. There are six kinds of condiments, including light and refreshing soy sauce, rich soy sauce, kogashi miso dipping sauce, lemon juice, spicy gochujang, and minced garlic, from which you can mix a dipping sauce to your own liking, such as combining the light and refreshing soy with spicy gochujang. Extra helpings of rice are free until 5:00 pm. You can choose whatever combination you like without anyone else's input.

The 3 Concepts of Yakiniku Like
1. “The Solo Yakiniku Restaurant You’ve Always Wanted”
It’s not easy to go to a yakiniku restaurant alone. For when you get that sudden craving for yakiniku but have no one to go with, Yakiniku Like provides individual smokeless grills so you can enjoy yakiniku freely at your own pace. Even people who don’t like BBQ smoke can relax and eat.
2. "Tasty! Quick! Value! Fast Food-Style Yakiniku"
The set menu simply comes with yakiniku meat, rice, wakame soup and kimchi. Due to the simple menu you will get your food within three minutes of ordering. They also spend more money on procuring quality meats, so the meat you get is more reasonably priced than other yakiniku places.
3. “You Can Choose Your Cut, Choose Your Amount, and Choose Your Sauce.” Custom Yakiniku Just for You
One of the great things about Yakiniku Like is that you can choose from various cuts of meat. At Yakiniku Like you can choose the cut of meat, amount of meat, and the sauce you like. For example, if today you want 50g of takumi kalbi with sauce, 50g of skirt steak with salty sauce, and 50g of beef tongue, you can. Do whatever combination you like!
