While the majority of tabehodai (all-you-can-eat) places in Japan offer sushi and yakiniku (grilled meats), there are also many all-you-can-eat spots that serve Japanese dishes. Below are five famous shops in Tokyo for buffet meals.

1. Kyuemon (Yakitori)

The first shop on this list is a place in Shinjuku that specializes in yakitori (grilled chicken skewers). Here, you can enjoy as much of their delicious and perfectly charcoal-grilled yakitori as you want. They use local chicken that is known for their sweetness and rich taste. Menus in foreign languages (English and Simplified Chinese) are available, and there are staff who can speak foreign languages (English and Chinese).

3. Daichi no Okurimono Ueno Shop (Japanese Food)

Next up is Daichi no Okurimono, a spot that is famous for its healthy menu. This shop has an extensive menu containing around 100 dishes that generously use fresh, organic, and pesticide-free vegetables. Their buffet is filled with various Japanese dishes – from standard items to creative dishes – along with a salad bar, seasonal fruits, different kinds of desserts like cake and soft-serve ice cream, 36 kinds of teas, 100 varieties of umeshu (plum brandy), and various other drinks.
