【Free Tours Available】Excellent Social Media Reception! Aichi’s Top 3 Rare Photogenic Spots & Shooting Points!

Below are B-class photogenic spots that you can enjoy in Aichi for free or for a minimal cost of 500 JPY. Share interesting photos of these areas to capture the hearts of your followers and get lots of likes!

#BigBuddhaWithSunglasses

This rare spot has become the talk of the town for being a place where you can see the massive 18m-tall Hotei no Daibutsu (Hotei Buddha) that belongs to an acupuncture clinic in Konan City, Aichi. When the railroad crossing warning lights align with his eyes, it looks like he’s wearing sunglasses! Could this be the only spot in Japan where there is a Buddha with a hard-boiled vibe?!

【Shooting Point】 The place where the railroad crossing warning lights and the eyes of the Buddha statue perfectly align is past the railroad. Head south of the Buddha statue until you reach an intersection, and then turn southeast. Try to take a photo from there!

#LifeSizedMomotaroandFriends

In Inuyama City, Aichi, there is a shrine called Momotaro Jinja (Momotaro Shrine) that was named after Momotaro (a famous character in Japanese folklore), who was reportedly born in that area. The shrine grounds are littered with colorful statues of the demon, Momotaro, and Momotaro’s friends. All these statues were created by the concrete artist, Shoun Asano. The peach-shaped torii (shrine gate) also packs a punch!

【Shooting Point】 Shoot from an angle where Momotaro looks like he has scaled the stairs and is sitting squarely at the center staircase. Rather than taking a photo from the front, the photo from the side that has the demon in front is much better!

[Momotaro Jinja]/0568-61-1586/10:00 AM – 4:00 PM/No holidays/Visiting the shrine is free, but the treasure museum charges entrance fees, such as 200 JPY for adults, etc./Parking space for 200 vehicles available (free)

#TooColorfulPubIsDizzying?!

Also located in Inuyama City is Hyakuman Doru, a pub and restaurant that is famous for being a B-class photo spot. This pub is filled with psychedelic drawings and phrases! It has a meal called Morning (prices start at 500 JPY) that is available for the whole day. Since it is a truly filling meal that is available for a ridiculously cheap price, it has been drawing a lot of attention too!

【Shooting Point】The overly flashy facade, the interior that looks like a different dimension with all the art pieces and pictures on display, the satisfying Morning meal... There are too many snap-worthy spots here!

[Hyakuman Doru]/0568-62-3336/9:00 AM – 5:00 PM/Closed on Mondays (but will be open if Monday is a public holiday)/Parking space for 5 vehicles available (free)
