If you can't drink alcohol because you drove to the winery, you can do a grape juice tasting instead.
On clear days, you can go outside to take a look at the vineyard.

There are also many other sundries and food items that you can pick up from the shop while you are there, as well as souvenirs and delicacies from Miyagi.
So, even if you are just visiting Sendai or the Akiu area, you can still get your hands on some delicious products from Minamisanriku, Kesennuma, and other areas all over the prefecture.

Relax at the Nearby Akiu Onsen

If you're in the area already, you have to visit Akiu Onsen as well. It is considered one of the top three hot springs in Japan. It was even mentioned under the name "Natori no Miyu" in the Yamato Monogatari and Shui Wakashu, two literary collections from 10th century Japan, one of short stories and one of poems, respectively. There are many places where you can stop by for a bath without having to spend the night, making it a great option for a short trip.
There is also a glass workshop close to the winery that is well-worth a visit.
