So many times, my other international friends have asked me, “do Japanese people wear masks because they’re scared of getting sick?” I guess that’s the most logical conclusion if you’re approaching it from an individualist’s mindset. In Japan, though, they tend to look at things from a collectivist point of view. I think both mindsets have strengths and weaknesses, personally!
