Great Food and Souvenirs! Osaka International Airport Re-opens

Osaka International Airport (Itami Airport) is scheduled to have its grand re-opening in 2020. On April 18 (Wed), 34 stores in the central commercial areas (from the first floor to the fourth-floor rooftop) were opened in advance. Many of the stores, such as the KitKat Chocolatory, Le Pan Kobe Kitano, and Osaka Airport Winery, are the first outlets in Osaka, as well as in airports. There are also must-visit souvenir stores like SORAMISE, which sells the airport's original goods, and KANSAI TABINIKKI, which offers outstanding products from around the Kansai region. With the expansion of the rooftop deck, which has fantastic views and is perfect for families and couples, this is truly a new Osaka landmark fit for a full day of fun, even for those not planning to fly. <*This information is from Kansai Walker (issued April 17, 2018)>

34 Stores to Open in the New Landmark

Osaka residents, who are known for being trend-conscious, are excited to visit these stores, many of which are the first branches to be set up at airports. The airy 4F rooftop will have an area with a stage for events.

The observation deck, which is the highlight of the 4F rooftop, is undergoing extensive renovations to become a space that's around 8,200-sq.m wide. It will become a relaxation area with a cafe, from which you’ll be able to comfortably see the airplanes, and will also include a play area for children and adults to enjoy together.

16 of the 34 shops that are opening in advance in the central commercial area are the brands’ first domestic airport branches. There is a full selection of stores meeting a variety of demands, so everyone will be able to shop and dine as they like.
