At maru sankaku shikaku, there is a wide array of colorful tarts that will surely make the eyes of any Instagrammer pop. The specialty dough of their tarts is baked twice to give it that distinct crunchiness. There are eight kinds of tarts that are constantly available at this shop. Two types of tarts are also created per season, with the no-bake blueberry cheesecake and cherry tarts available until the end of June for the spring season. For early summer, they debuted the peach and mango tarts.
These are the tarts (496 JPY each). The tarts on the left half, from top to bottom, are the Caramel Banana, the No-Bake Cheesecake with a smooth texture, the flavorful Café Mocha and the Yonashi (European Pear) Tart. Groovy Ice Cream GUFO is extremely famous for its fluffy soft-serve ice cream that is made using an Italian-made machine. Now you can pack their delicious soft-serve ice cream to take home with you. Here, some of the flavors available are Hazelnut, which is a staple flavor in Italy, Raspberry Milk ,whose bittersweet sauce goes well with crunchy cookie, and Milk (850 JPY).

There are 15 types of gelatos and ice creams that fuse fruits and vegetables, centering on those produced in the Kumamoto region, with fresh milk from the Jersey cows bred in Aso and the natural waters of Aso’s Shirakawa Springs. This year, the mango flavor has been released early, while the ripe melon and passion fruit flavors made with fruits grown in Kumamoto have been debuting one after another! There are also gift boxes (prices start at 54 JPY) available, even for just a single item.

KAGUNOMI-DOU is a shop that was opened by a pastry chef trained in French and Spanish cuisines who wanted to create “sweets that are easy to pick up just like pincho" (a kind of small snack that is popular in Spain). Customers love the Kagunomi, a sandwich with kankitsu (citrus) jam filling, the Miel that has dry fruits inside a honey mousse, and Crostata that changes in flavor every season.

The gelato offered by Shunka Hyoka Ume Iroha (Chaseika), the brainchild of Taizo Shibano who emerged triumphant at the Gelato Japan Championship in 2015, are known for their freshness as they are made by hand in the store every morning. They use fresh milk that is delivered straight from farms in Ishikawa’s Noto district, and wonderfully incorporate the seasonal flavors of fruits and other ingredients. This shop also debuts a string of summer flavors such as pineapple and cherry (both available until August)!

The cream puff from The Chiffon & Spoon Nishinomiya Gardens Shop is the kind of cream puff with a baked crunchy pastry that is loaded with whipped cream. This shop offers a total of five flavors of cream puffs, including the Strawberry Custard that uses its original strawberry jam, the slightly bitter Matcha Custard, and the Chocolate Custard with chocolate that will melt in your mouth.

Such adorable bread! Giving birth to a new item in the cat series
A new creation is coming under the Iro Neko no Te (Colored Cat’s Paw) (230 JPY) series of the Bakery & Cafe Blue Jean that are comprised of baked desserts inspired by the paws of a cat. That new bread is the Iro Neko Shokupan (Colored Cat’s White Bread). Produced in celebration of the renovation of the shop, this bread is made through the “warm water yeast production method” wherein bread flour is needed using warm water, giving it an outstanding delicious taste from its crisp crust and springy texture.

A new patisserie opens in Shinmachi! Offering the famous tiramisu for adults
The owner of the shop who had to choose souvenirs and presents a lot in his previous work used that experience to create the Kin (gold) and Gin (silver) tiramisu at patisserie ginkgo. Both the Kin and Gin tiramisus are desserts for adults, with the Kin using the best rum and famous dark rum, while the Gin incorporates Macallan whisky which has a sweet vanilla-like aroma.

Pallesh 88 is a tart shop that is operated by Marche & Dolce, a company that sells organic vegetables and fruits. The customers love the granola tart that is sold starting April. You can choose from honey, matcha, and chocolate-flavored organic granola as your topping for the tart with melt-in-you-mouth cheese, matcha, or chocolate. It’s nutritious, too!

CHOUXCREAM CHOUXCRI Whity Umeda Shop is the first shop in the Kansai region of CHOUXCREAM CHOUXCRI which has gained much popularity in Tokyo’s Ikebukuro area. Here, you can get a taste of cream puffs that you can’t find anywhere else, including CHOUXCRI with crunchy shell that is made by putting macaron dough on top of a chewy pastry, and CHOUX Croissant which will get you hooked to the crisp texture created by the layers of pie pastries.
