Now With Dessert Flavoring! Grand Calbee’s Spring and Summer Potato Chips Evolve Towards a Lighter Texture

At Hankyu Umeda Main Branch in Umeda, Osaka, Grand Calbee, a super popular shop that always has a line, has begun selling their new spring and summer items, Potato Beat.

Potato Beat are made with wave-cut potato chips and have a light texture while keeping the delicious flavor of the original ingredients. If you compare it to the previous incarnation, Potato Crisps, you should notice that the texture has gotten lighter while the potato flavor is still intact.

The product so far has only been available in Plain and Meal, but now there's a completely new category: Dessert. The 3 categories have 2 flavors each, making a total of 6 flavors that each go for 540 JPY.

The Plain category has Shio (salt), which brings out the deliciousness of the potato, and Hokkaido Butter, which uses powder made from 100% Hokkaido butter.

Meal has Camembert Cheese, a flavor cheese lovers won't be able to resist, and Tomato and Basil, which go perfectly together.

Dessert's line-up consists of Sicilian Salt and Lemon, which has just the right, addicting amount of salt and lemony aroma, while Honey and Mascarpone has a mellow sweetness with an accent note coming from the mascarpone.

Potato Beat was reborn into a brand new texture that also allows you to enjoy the deliciousness of the original ingredients. Don't miss out on this limited edition product only available in the spring and summer!
