One night is just 3500 – 5000 yen! A Live House with Lodging Opened in Umeda
Umeda Shangri-La, a live house in Osaka, renovated part of their building to create the MAMBO Inn, opened December 2016.
The numbers of visitors coming to Japan are rising along with the number of days that people stay, and it's estimated that
about 20,000 more rooms need to be added in the Kinki region to fill the need for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Because of that, lodging facilities have steeply raised prices. However, this live house managed by LD&K, the managers of Osaka Shangri-La, has renovated part of their facilities to become a hostel with the goal of being an environment where musicians and music lovers coming to Osaka can relax and enjoy music.
Inside the building, there are 3 rooms where up to 4 people can stay, as well as a dining space where you can have meetings or meals. In the shared space, there's an electric kettle, fridge, microwave, hair dryer, and more that you can use for free, as well as Wi-Fi throughout the whole building. While the prices fluctuate based on when you check in and the number of people in your group, you can usually stay for about 3500 - 5000 JPY (excl. tax) per person.
Osaka is a city that is continuing to get visitors, especially with the 2020 Olympics on the horizon. It seems like MAMBO Inn will play a big part in stimulating the neighborhood and music scene! [KansaiWalker/スズキヒロシ]
