From Friday, September 1 through Sunday, December 24, Checkers, the brasserie on the second floor of Hilton Osaka, will offer a special buffet titled "Dessert Buffet - An Invitation from Alice" based on Lewis Carroll's immortal novel, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
The same dessert buffet is offered at Hilton Tokyo and Hilton Nagoya and is so popular it is hard to get reservations. When Alice chases a white rabbit and falls through a rabbit hole, she enters a peculiar and adorable fantasy world. At this dessert fair that expresses Alice's world view, there are bottomless servings of approximately 20 adorable sweets based on Alice's experiences in the wonderland. It is offered every day during the period.
Hilton Osaka's pastry chef, Toshiharu Hyakuda, creates photogenic desserts worthy of the social media age based on elements of the story such as the Mad Tea Party with the Hatter, the Queen's Croquet Ground, and the "DRINK ME" bottle that is key to the story. The Paint Them Red Rose Mousse, based on the scene of playing cards painting white roses red, is a rose-shaped white chocolate mousse with the scent of lychee as an accent. The Munyumunyu Caterpillar, based on the Caterpillar that gives Alice advice, has a unique texture. There are approximately 20 desserts, including the Queen's Pudding, with plenty of berries, and the Strawberry Shortcake Playing Card Soldiers. There are also light food items such as sandwiches and quiche.
The buffet is offered in a space that expresses Alice's world, with exhibits of artwork depicting Alice's world created in the unique touch of the internationally active etching artist, Mitsushige Iwasaki, as well as displays of beautiful items from the hugely popular "concept shop," Wednesday's Alice, that has lines at the weekend.
"Dessert Buffet - An Invitation from Alice," which was held in Tokyo and Nagoya, is being held. We recommend making reservations before it becomes difficult to do so.
