The Awa Otomedori Honetsuki Karaage (deep-fried Awa Otome chicken with bone on) of New Munchen is the soft breast meat of special-breed Awa Otome chicken that is soaked in a special sauce for one night and then fried to a crisp in the restaurant’s original blend of lard!

Wagyu Bulgogi Gimbap is bulgogi (Korean-style grilled beef) using Yamagata-bred Japanese Black beef that is filled with kimpira gobo (chopped burdock root that is simmered in soy sauce with sugar), carrots, takuan (pickled radish) and other ingredients. The rice that is overflowing with the rich aroma of sesame oil also tastes delicious.

This is the Wagyu Bulgogi Gimbap (1,080 JPY). “It has solid flavors and the aroma of sesame oil, making it a great partner for beer! It contains only a small amount of rice, so it is perfect as a snack.”

The Premium Gyoza (dumpling with a filling made of minced meat and vegetables) of GYOZA OHSHO, a restaurant that has been investing its know-how on gyoza over the past 50 years, has a distinct Japanese taste that comes from perilla leaves kneaded in the ingredients, coupled with the flavors of kombu (kelp) and katsuo (bonito).

This is the Premium Gyoza (fried or fresh) (626 JPY for 6-piece set of each variant). “I was surprised by its overflowing meat filling and juiciness. But while its flavors are concentrated, the aftertaste you get is quite refreshing!”

The Pirikara Sakiika Ten (spicy shredded and dried squid tempura) of KOBE Gogyufuku is the most famous item in this shop that carries about 40 kinds of delicacies. With this snack, the oil from cooking is completely drained, so it has a superb texture as the surface is crispy while the inside is chewy.
