1. Cafe & Gallery Yuzuriha

Meiji no Mori Mino Quasi-National Park is a famous autumn spot for momijigari. Yuzuriha, a cafe inside the park, is managed by the kaiseki course cuisine restaurant that has received 2 Michelin stars, Ichiju Nisai Ueno. The limited lunch set (1,800 JPY (excl. tax)) uses the same carefully selected ingredients like vegetables as Ueno. Also, a 30 minute walk away from the restaurant is Mino Falls, an area selected as one of Japan's top 100 waterfalls. Please stop by both!

This restaurant on the 18th floor of Osaka's Hotel New Otani has an amazing view. The sight of Osaka Castle floating in a sea of colorful foliage is a superb sight. Lunch is 11:00 am - 2:30 pm. If you order the Marguerite course (5,000 JPY (excl. tax and service charge)), for an extra 1,500 JPY (excl. tax and service charge) you can get the restaurant's famous melt-in-your-mouth beef stew and hamburger made with Ozaki beef as your main dish. (To order the stew a la carte, it's 5,500 JPY (excl. tax and service charge)). Please try Ozaki beef, so delicious it's called a fantasy.

3. Sanrokuen

This unique restaurant is made out of a huge soy sauce brewing barrel situated in the depths of Kishiwada, about 7 km from JR Higashi-Kishiwada Station. The barrel was reformed to have about 45 private rooms inside of it. On the roughly 13,200 sq.m. grounds, there are about 600 cherry blossom trees with leaves that turn a gentle orange in the autumn. The Genghis Khan set made with lamb shoulder roast on the traditional charcoal grill (2,980 JPY (excl. tax)) is addicting, and you can also try the domestic Kuroge Japanese beef set (5,600 JPY (excl. tax)) which includes their prized beef with top-quality marbling. *The room charge is 200 JPY (excl. tax) per person per hour.

If you want a private room, reservations made at least 3 days in advance by phone are required.

5. Brillervert

Taiko-en is a garden of about 26,400 sq.m. that has a restaurant and a ryotei (traditional Japanese restaurant). As autumn deepens, the beautiful garden paints itself a deep red. At night the trees are lit up, and the sight of the colorful leaves in the middle of the darkness is magical and brings about a different charm. If you walk around the garden, definitely stop by Brillervert. You can enjoy light snacks like different kinds of cake (540 JPY (incl. tax)) and mixed sandwiches (1,230 JPY (incl. tax)) while gazing at the garden from behind the huge glass window.
