Sailor Moon Cafe Opens in Sakae, Nagoya!

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the hit series, Sailor Moon, the Sailor Moon Cafe 2017 will officially open for a limited time at four major cities in Japan starting from September 22 (Friday)! The Nagoya portion of the special event will be held at Amelie Cafe from September 29th (Friday) through November 5th (Sunday).

A Popular Series That Still Captures the Hearts of Women in Their 30s

Sailor Moon is a creation of Naoko Takeuchi that was first serialized in 1991 in the monthly magazine, Nakayoshi (published by Kodansha). It turned into an animated series that was shown in more than 40 countries, creating a social phenomenon both in Japan and abroad.

The 20th anniversary project for Sailor Moon kicked off in 2012, with new animated shows, musicals, merchandise, and exhibits held in line with the project. To celebrate its 25th anniversary, they started up a new project in 2017! Fans of Sailor Moon are once again getting excited, especially the series’ adult female fans.

Various Cute Dishes That Adults Will Enjoy

The concept of this collaboration cafe is "Adult x Charming". The cafe will bring to life a charming world that will let guests feel cuteness amid adulthood, and make them naturally recall their childhood.

The cafe’s menu has a lineup of highly original items inspired by the Sailor Moon world, from food to sweets and drinks. Guests will be in for a treat with the adorableness of the dishes and the scrupulous attention given to the setting. The dishes are so cute that it will seem almost like a waste to eat them!

The Luna to Artemis no Nakayoshi Burger (1,690 JPY (excl. tax)) is a pair of burgers that are inspired by the black cat, Luna, and the white cat, Artemis, who are sidekicks of the sailor fighters and are important keys to the overall story.

When you see the Tuxedo Kamen no Shikkoku Curry ~ Bara wo Soete ~ (Tuxedo Mask’s Jet Black Curry Garnished With Rose Petals) (1,490 JPY (excl. tax)) with the famous dialogue of Tuxedo Mask, you just might scream “Tuxedo Mask!” on reflex!

The Rainbow Moon Chalice Parfait (1,490 JPY (excl. tax)) that was designed based on the legendary holy grail that appeared in Sailor Moon S will probably make a lot of fans feel nostalgic by its perfect reproduction of the holy grail in the series.

One of the biggest appeals of the Sailor Moon series is the individual personality of each sailor fighter. In this cafe, guests get to taste sweets that are inspired by them.

Try the other confectioneries at this cafe, such the Kore de Anata mo Tensai Shojo!? Shabon Spray Cheesecake (Bubble Spray Cheesecake) (1,390 JPY (excl. tax)) that is designed after the lethal move of Ami Mizuno (Sailor Mercury) and the Hino Jinja no Burning Mandala Anmitsu (Sailor Mars’ Mandala Anmitsu) (1,390 JPY (excl. tax)) that is based on the killer technique of the shrine maiden, Rei Hino (Sailor Mars). Reminisce on the dialogues related to the fighters’ lethal moves while savoring their namesake desserts!

Aside from those dishes, how about ordering the Pachi Pachi Supreme Cream Thunder (Sailor Jupiter’s Supreme Cream Puff Thunder) (1,390 JPY (excl. tax)) that is based on the killer technique of the symbol of liveliness, Makoto Kino (Sailor Jupiter)? Maybe you should also try ordering the Tabenakya Ya-yo Love Me Chain Waffles (Sailor Venus’ Love Me Chain Waffles) (1,390 JPY (excl. tax)) that is inspired by Minako Aino (Sailor Venus)! Of course, you can order the dish honoring the sailor fighter you love, but many end up wanting to try all of the sailor fighters’ dishes!

They have a variety of smoothies bearing illustrations of Sailor Moon characters, such as the Sailor Moon Mango Cream Smoothie (990 JPY (excl. tax)) and Chibi Moon Ichigo Milk Smoothie (Chibi Moon’s Strawberry Milk Smoothie) (990 JPY (excl. tax)). They also have other drinks that will surely leave a huge impact, like the Luna P no Kieru Cotton Candy Soda (Vanishing Luna P Cotton Candy Soda) (1,090 JPY (excl. tax)) with cotton candy on top!

The Haruka to Michiru no Kinjirareta Smoothie (Haruka and Michiru’s Forbidden Smoothie) (1,190 JPY (excl. tax)) that is based on Haruka Teno and Michiru Kaio – a pair of characters that boast extreme popularity among some fans – comes with an original acrylic charm!

So Many Original Goods Are Only Available at This Cafe!

The shop that is annexed to the cafe houses a wide selection of original merchandise that can only be found at this collaboration cafe, including PVC passport cases (1,000 JPY (excl. tax)) and acrylic sliding mirrors (1,100 JPY (excl. tax)) (※A customer can only buy up to two pieces of each item).

Reserve in Advance!

The Sailor Moon Cafe is expected to be crowded, so it would be best to reserve a table ahead of time. General reservations will be accepted starting September 15 (Friday). Those who book in advance will receive an A3-sized clear poster (randomly chosen from three kinds of posters)! As a special bonus, customers who visit the cafe will also get an A3-sized lunch placemat (randomly chosen from four kinds of placemats).

The shop decorations that use original illustrations from the animated series are also a must-see. There are many items that are bound to tickle the maiden hearts of adult women. Come and feel the magic and romance from your youth!
