1. IKARIYA 365
This Italian restaurant has an excellent location on the 1st floor of Keio Prelia Hotel, just under a 5-minute walk from Shijo Station or Gojo Station. The morning menu consists of the Bistro Buffet Morning (2,000 JPY (excl. tax), open from 6:30 am to 10:00 am, in which you can eat as much as you want for 60 minutes. The diverse menu includes salads, salad toppings, bistro appetizers, and porridge soup, among many other delicious options! An absolute must-try is the morning pizza, which is baked in a kiln in-house!
This asagayu (breakfast porridge) and ochazuke (broth poured on top of rice) specialty restaurant was established by Tankuma, a Kyoto-style restaurant with roughly 90 years of history. Asagayu, a gentle, simmered rice dish that you eat for breakfast, is a traditional dish that's often eaten in Kyoto. You can enjoy asagayu at this restaurant in their Asagayu Meal (2,300 JPY (incl. tax), can order for 2+ people), which is offered from 8:00 am to 10:00 am.
