Don't you think that traveling is never complete without delicious food and alcohol? Even in Kyoto, there are places that have happy hour, so you can drink to your heart's content knowing that you're getting your alcoholic drinks at a bargain. Happy hour is usually when there are few customers, so it wouldn't be too daunting of a task to enter the establishment as a tourist. Here are 4 restaurants in Kyoto that offer happy hour.
1. Hotel New Hankyu Kyoto Bar REED
It might be a little early in the evening from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm, but Bar REED offers all-you-can-drink for the happy hour duration (1,500 JPY per person, incl. tax, 60 minute time limit, reservations only). The all-you-can-drink menu not only includes 30 types of standard cocktails skillfully made by the hotel's bartenders, but also beer, whisky, shochu, and non-alcoholic drinks. It might feel daunting to walk into the bar of a hotel, but the atmosphere in Bar REED is so unexpectedly casual that even lone drinkers have no problems walking into the place. The curry rice that is served during lunch time is also known to be really tasty, and it's recommended just for that if you are not much of a drinker.
