Finding restaurants can be a challenge when traveling with children. So this time, we introduce five kid-friendly restaurants near Kyoto Station. Each provides services specifically for families with children so you can relax and enjoy your meals.

1. Wansakansa Kyoto Isetan Branch

This is a restaurant in Isetan Kyoto, connected to Kyoto Station. During the day, you can see the five great temples of Kyoto and Shimizu, and at night you can see the Kyoto nightscape, with the illuminated Kyoto Tower right in front. There is a variety of tasty dishes, including pasta (about 1,500 JPY), risotto (1,296 JPY, incl. tax), and paella (around 1,200 JPY) to enjoy with the beautiful view. There is also a full kids' menu that includes items such as Salisbury steak and curry.

This is a long-established beef restaurant where you can enjoy traditional flavors made with Kyoto beef and Japanese Black beef. The signature evening menu item is the sukiyaki (starting at 4,644 JPY (incl. tax)) with the house warishita (stock made from soup stock, soy sauce, and mirin cooking sake) and seasonal vegetables that bring out the flavors of the wagyu beef. One of the options at lunchtime is the Wagyu sukiyaki-ju (2,700 JPY (incl. tax)). The restaurant is on the 11th floor of Isetan Department Store, so the views are fabulous. A bonus is that there are English-speaking staff available.

You can enjoy beautifully presented Japanese cuisine at a reasonable price.
