Here are four the carefully selected spots in the Furano area that every visitor has to check out.

Ueno Farm

This farm is a must-see spot in Furano if you will be kicking off your tour from Asahikawa. You can explore its gardens that have been created using plants that grow in Hokkaido’s climate, taking into account such factors as the blooming season in the Hokkaido region and the vivid colors of the flowers. Shown in the picture is the Gnome Garden, a Hokkaido-style naturalistic garden that showcases more than 300 kinds of plants. Meanwhile, the shop that sells nursery plants and gifts for decorating a garden, centering on perennial flowers that bloom every season, is also very popular here!

Farm Tomita

Farm Tomita is a place that is already synonymous to Furano. The Traditional Lavender Field shown in the photo blooms from early- through late-July. The view of the lavender field as it blankets the farm is truly stunning. Aside from lavenders, there are also poppies and baby’s breath grass, while during fall, the field overflows with spider flowers, cosmos and other flowers. Potpourri, room fragrances and a wide range of lavender goods are perfect for souvenir.

Furano Patisserie tronc kicked into operation in 2015, drawing in customers by constantly creating Furano-like sweets that are particular about the use of raw ingredients from Furano and its neighboring areas. Its biggest bestseller, the Furano Gyunyu no Toron Purin (Furano milk pudding) (shown in the photo, 270 JPY), is a kind of rich dessert that is filled with a milky sensation and is characterized by its smooth palate. Aside from around 20 kinds of handmade sweets, the glazed Chou Crème (cream puff) (130 JPY) with an exquisite balance of cream is also recommended here. And from late-June, this shop is slated to sell the Furano-san Natsumizuki Nama Ichigo Soft Cream (soft-serve ice cream of Furano-grown Natsumizuki strawberries) (580 JPY) that uses Natsumizuki strawberry, a new type of strawberry that was discovered in Furano (the sale of this delicacy depends on the delivery of strawberries, so it may be subject to change by a little bit).
