Gourmet Iwaki (Naganuma-cho): The appeal of the Ebiten cannot be contained in the bowl

The popularity of the Akaji-don has spread all over the country now! Apparently, many tourists from outside Hokkaido visit this place drawn by its reputation. While it is actually just a large prawn tendon (bowl of rice topped tempura pieces), what continues to be capturing the hearts of its many fans is the size of the ebiten (prawn tempura). This dish comes with five pieces of prawns that seem to be bursting out of the bowl. It is so overwhelming that you’d end up wondering if you were given the “large serving”.
