5 Select Sapporo Restaurants with All-You-Can-Eat Mongolian Barbecue

Genghis Khan (Mongolian BBQ), a grilled mutton dish, is a specialty gourmet item in Hokkaido. It is the soul food of Hokkaido residents that is eaten not only in restaurants, but also at home. Here are 5 restaurants in Sapporo that offer all-you-can-eat Genghis Khan!

1. Asahi Beer Community Hall YOYOTEI

Introducing first is Asahi Beer Community Hall Yoyotei. It is managed directly by a beer company, so you can fill yourself up on Mongolian Beef and great beer.
The restaurant's signature all-you-can-eat plans are available by type of meat, such as lamb (3,000 JPY (incl. tax)), mutton (2,900 JPY (incl. tax), and lamb shoulder loin (3,700 JPY (incl. tax)). Each comes with grilled vegetables. You can also add all-you-can-drink including alcohol and soft drinks (1,200 JPY (incl. tax)).

2. Hokkaido Beer Garden

Hokkaido Beer Garden is a beer hall where you can enjoy reasonably priced Mongolian BBQ to your heart's content. In addition to the Mongolian BBQ, it has a wide selection of Hokkaido's specialty gourmet items.
The all-you-can-eat fresh lamb Genghis Khan comes with all-you-can-drink starting at 3,000 JPY (incl. tax) for 100 minutes. The hand-cut fresh lamb is soft and not stringy. The rich sauce with lots of spices and aromatic vegetables is wonderful too. If you want to enjoy more Hokkaido flavors, the luxurious plan (7,000 JPY (incl. tax) for 100 minutes), that includes Hokkaido Japanese Black wagyu beef, crab, grilled seafood, and nigiri sushi, is recommended.

3. Matsuojingisukan Susukino Branch

The Susukino branch of a Hokkaido institution, Matsuojingisukan, is a restaurant that specializes in flavored Genghis Khan of lamb that is marinated in a sauce.
The meat that is marinated in a secret sauce of a proprietary blend that includes onions and apple juice is soft and has very little odor. Even people eating lamb for the first time will find it approachable. The all-you-can-eat plan is 3,100 JPY (incl. tax) for 60 minutes. There is also a 90-minute plan with all-you-can-drink for 4,000 JPY (incl. tax). The plans include lamb, vegetables and udon noodles. Udon cooked in the secret sauce is fabulous too, so be sure to give it a try.

3. Matsuojingisukan Susukino Branch

4. Susukinojingisukan Gojo Branch

In the Gojo branch of Susukinojingisukan, you can enjoy Mongolian BBQ grilled with charcoal rather than on iron grills.
The three all-you-can-eat plans (3,300 JPY (incl. tax) and up) that include between 9 and 18 different dishes, such as mutton, lamb with salt and negi scallions, and hormone offals marinated in a special salt-based sauce, are extremely popular. If you get the 3,800 JPY and up plan, the popular fresh lamb shoulder roast (950 JPY (incl. tax) a la carte) is included too! You can also add 500 JPY to get all-you-can-eat lamb and pork shabu shabu (a dish of thinly sliced meat blanched in a pot and eaten with sauce).

5. Yozora-no Jingisukan 45 Branch

Yozora-no Jingisukan 45 Branch, where you can enjoy Mongolian Beef with a luxurious view of the Susukino area at night, is also recommended!
The all-you-can-eat plan is 3,800 JPY and up (incl. tax) and includes all-you-can-drink and soft and juicy lamb from Australia. There are also plans for grain-fed premium fresh lamb and for lamb rubbed with a homemade salt-based sauce. The plans include all-you-can-eat kimchi and vegetables and a dessert of yuzu citrus sorbet.

5. Yozora-no Jingisukan 45 Branch
