Here are places you can get tasty soft-serve ice cream in one of Japan's leading milk producing regions, Hokkaido. They are all outstanding ice creams with the rich flavors of milk that can be addictive!

1. Ecorin Village

Ecorin Village in Eniwa, near New Chitose Airport, has an English garden with approximately 1,000 different types of flowers and plants and a pasture with sheep and alpacas, so it is a place where you can feel nature and animals close by.
The garden center, Hana no Makiba, which has more than 650 types of seasonal plants such as roses and herbs, sells Hokkaido Rose Soft Cream (300 JPY (incl. tax)). The richness of the milk and the bright rose aroma go perfectly together! You can also select the Makiba no Soft Cream (300 JPY (incl. tax)), with its deep flavors.

2. Farm Tomita

Farm Tomita is a popular spot in Furano where you can enjoy multi-colored flower fields.
It's biggest attraction is one of Japan's largest lavender fields. The lavender is most beautiful in the summer and is harvested in late summer. And here, you can enjoy Lavender Soft Cream (250 JPY (incl. tax) and up), made with lavender essence. It is distinguished by bright flavors that fills the mouth the moment you put it in, and the refreshing aftertaste. You can also enjoy the Lavender White Chocolate (270 JPY (incl. tax) and up), a soft-serve ice cream of vanilla made with fresh Hokkaido cream and white chocolate.

3. Queen's Soft Cream Cafe

Queen's Soft Cream Cafe is two minutes on foot from Sapporo Station, the gateway to Hokkaido. It is a shop in a great location easy to stop in while sightseeing or shopping.
Here, you can enjoy soft-serve ice cream (280 JPY (incl. tax) and up) from Yamanaka Dairy Farm in Akaigawa Village in Hokkaido. It has a rich flavor and bright, refreshing taste unique to milk pasteurized at low temperatures. You can enjoy the freshly-milked taste of the farm in the middle of the city. The homemade sauce made only with blueberries and strawberries from Nanporo Town, sugar, and lemon juice is also very popular. It is just slightly sweet and brings out the flavors of the soft-serve ice cream.

4. LeTAO

The Otaru patisserie, LeTAO is popular for its outstanding sweets, including cheesecakes and chocolates.
A soft-serve cheese ice cream, Cinque Fromage (390 JPY (incl. tax)), can be enjoyed at the main store in Otaru and at the branch in New Chitose Airport. It is a rich ice cream made with two types of cream cheese, gouda, cheddar, and camembert. The Jersey Milk (360 JPY (incl. tax)) from Hokkaido with a hint of mascarpone, and the mixed Marriage (390 JPY (incl. tax)), for those who want to taste both flavors, are also popular.

4. LeTAO

This was a wide selection, from a shop in a convenient location easy to drop in at, to farms and pastures worth taking the trip to visit. Each has its own appeal, so it may be worth comparing them.
