Kitamaru is a restaurant that offers Ishikari-nabe, a specialty hot pot of Hokkaido. Ishikari-nabe has plenty of salmon and vegetables and a miso flavored soup. The combination between the sweetness of white miso, the vegetables, and salmon is heavenly. The Ishikari-nabe of this restaurant has added butter that strengthens the flavor. It might seem strange to mix miso with butter, but in Hokkaido it is a common combination. This combination can also be seen in the famous miso ramen of Hokkaido. Hyosetsunomon is a restaurant specializing in crab cuisine, established in 1964. Crab shabu shabu (from 4,320 JPY (incl. tax)) is very popular for the delicious combination of the special soup and crab. The way to enjoy shabu shabu is to dip a raw crab into the soup for few seconds, which cooks it lightly. The delicious soup, made with crab, vegetables, bonito, and kelp, and the sweetness and beautiful texture of the crab will amaze you. Vegetables are not included with crab shabu shabu, so please order them (950 JPY (incl.tax)) as an optional extra.

This is a restaurant that offers fresh oysters, stocked directly through fishermen, and delicious local seasonal cuisines. There are more than 30 oyster dishes available. The recommended nabe of this restaurant is the Oyster Dote-nabe (2,600 JPY (excl. tax)), which has thick miso paste all around the edge of the pot as well as plenty of oysters and vegetables. With this pot dish, you can control the flavor of the soup by dissolving the miso paste to suit your preference. Please carefully manage the heat of the pot to avoid burning the miso paste. You will not need a prior reservation for the course meal options. The recommended oyster course (5,700 JPY (incl. tax)) includes dote-nabe. This is a perfect option for those who would like to enjoy a meal full of oysters.

The taste of the secret soup, made with seafood among various other ingredients, is astonishing. Yokozuna Chanko-Nabe Ramen ~ Nyumon Chanko-Nabe Ramen (from 750 JPY), is also available during lunch hours (12:00 pm to 3:00 pm).
