This guesthouse is 10 minutes away from JR Hakata Station. The private rooms include showers, bathtubs, and toilets, while the dormitory rooms have a shower room and toilet available. Every morning there's free toast available. There is a lounge and a kitchen that's fully stocked seasonings and tools as well. There are convenience stores nearby, so it's a very convenient location. Coffee and tea are also free. Each room has wireless LAN, and there are computers and printers available to use as well. Rental bicycles start at 100 JPY for an hour. This building, that was a company dorm in the past, was reformed into a guesthouse that aims to be a place for international and information exchange. Each room is different from the rest and they're fully stocked. It's a five minute walk from Muromi Station, so it's easy to travel not just around Kyushu but around the country from here. There are single, twin, and dormitory rooms. The living room has a table big enough to seat 10, and it can be a lively area. Each room has a unit bath and wireless LAN. You can hang laundry on the room's verandas or on the roof. Smoking is allowed only in the courtyard.

5. Hakata Machiya Guesthouse Kaine

This 70 year old traditional machiya building was reformed into a Japanese-style guesthouse. This aesthetically Japanese space is widely appreciated not just by backpackers but by travelers from both in and out of Japan.
Men's dormitory rooms can hold 6 people using bunk beds, while women's hold 4 people and use futons. Personal rooms come in twin and triple sizes. Each room has wireless LAN. The shower room, bathroom, and computers are shared.
There's a cheap udon bar on the facilities where you can enjoy sake. There are also convenience stores nearby. Rental bicycles are 500 JPY for one day. Children under 12 are not allowed to stay in dormitory rooms.
